Enjoy the Holistic Health Benefits of Mild Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy!

Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) is an FDA approved therapeutic treatment that delivers high levels of oxygen under mild pressure, to treat certain medical conditions and enhance overall health and wellbeing.

Used in clinical settings for decades to treat decompression syndrome in deep sea divers and as therapy for carbon monoxide poisoning, the positive results fostered by HBOT led to further research on its effect for other conditions. Before long, hospitals began using HBOT in neonatal intensive care units (NICUs) to treat premature newborns, and in burn centers to accelerate healing in burn patients.

Today, HBOT is used to treat a broad range of conditions, including autism, fibromyalgia, multiple sclerosis, and even cancer. But until recently, HBOT chambers could only be found in medical facilities and research labs.

Now, FDA approval has made  HBOT available to the public for general enhancement of health, wellness, and beauty. Whether you want to speed recovery from exercise, revitalize and rejuvenate your body, improve your skin tone and texture, or boost your cognitive function, HBOT chambers can be found in select spas and clinics across the United States.

Enriches Oxygen Delivery to Cells, Tissues
and Organs

Used in clinical settings for decades to treat decompression syndrome in deep sea divers and as therapy for carbon monoxide poisoning, the positive results fostered by HBOT led to further research on its effect for other conditions. Before long, hospitals began using HBOT in neonatal intensive care units (NICUs) to treat premature newborns, and in burn centers to accelerate healing in burn patients.

Speeds Post-Exercise Recovery and Enhances
Performance

Subjecting your body to the rigors of physical activity can temporarily overtax your system, causing microtears in soft tissues, and the buildup of metabolic byproducts in your interstitial spaces. HBOT supplies your body with an abundance of oxygen, to reduce fatigue, enhance stamina, promote tissue healing, and speed up the elimination of metabolic waste. HBOT stimulates the creation of new capillaries, to enhance oxygen delivery to muscle cells for increased energy production.

Combats Stress, Depression and
Anxiety

Deep breathing techniques have been taught for centuries to calm and reverse the body’s stress-induced fight-or-flight mechanisms. In today’s hustle culture, chronic stress is a major driver of systemic inflammation and metabolic diseases that lead to death. HBOT harness pressurized oxygen in a relaxing environment, to relieve stress and anxiety and restore equilibrium.

Enhances Cognitive
Function

Banish brain fog and achieve mental clarity by optimizing oxygen flow to your brain and central nervous system. Restore focus and mental acuity for better work performance and productivity. Be more present and engaged with your loved ones, and face the world with a more positive mental outlook.

Combats Aging
Skin

As you age, the turnover of new skin cells slows down, and you produce less collagen to support the skin’s underlying matrix. Hyperbaric oxygen therapy benefits for skin promote the body’s production of new collagen and accelerate the growth of new skin cells, for more elastic and youthful skin.

Supports Respiratory
Health

Elevated oxygen under mild pressure delivers 2-3 times more oxygen to your lung tissue than normal breathing, making HBOT a prime therapy for respiratory health. HBOT has been used for decades to treat respiratory infections like colds and flu, and recent research suggests that HBOT can help to improve progressive hypoxemia in COVID patients. However, avoid HBOT if you have respiratory symptoms accompanied by a fever. HBOT is generally contraindicated for patients with COPD.

Promotes Overall Health
and Wellness

Every system in your body relies on oxygen to survive and function. Sedentary lifestyles, environmental toxins, and indoor living can deprive your cells of oxygen, leading to low energy and chronic fatigue. HBOT helps to support and strengthen systems throughout your body, including your immune system, visceral and reproductive organs, muscle cells and nervous tissue, for greater vitality and resilience.

Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy FAQs

Is hyperbaric oxygen therapy safe for everyone?

While hyperbaric oxygen therapy is generally considered safe, it is absolutely contraindicated for people with pneumothorax (collapsing lung syndrome), and relatively contraindicated for people taking certain prescription medications, including a number of cancer drugs. Avoid hyperbaric oxygen therapy if you are pregnant. Consult your physician if you are being treated for metabolic disorders or other chronic diseases.

How does hyperbaric oxygen therapy work?

During HBOT, your entire body is enclosed in a hyperbaric chamber where air pressure is elevated to higher than normal levels, and 100% pure oxygen is pumped into the chamber. The increased air pressure enhances the flow of pure oxygen into the lungs, where it enters your cardiovascular system and circulates to cells throughout your body.

How often can I safely get hyperbaric oxygen therapy?

The frequency and duration of HBOT treatment varies from one person to the next, depending on their condition. For many conditions, a daily treatment for five consecutive days is effective, with up to 20 to 30 treatments over a period of four to six weeks. However, a single weekly session may be enough to treat non-medical conditions like fatigue or stress.

How long do the effects of hyperbaric oxygen therapy last?

The healing benefits of hyperbaric oxygen therapy can last up to 12 months. Maintenance treatments may require as little as one or two sessions per week.

What are the side effects of hyperbaric oxygen therapy?

While HBOT is generally safe, rare complications sometimes arise. Side effects are normally mild, but may include lung damage, fluid buildup/rupture in the middle ear, sinus problems, changes in vision and oxygen poisoning.

Is hyperbaric oxygen therapy safe for stroke patients?

Hyperbaric oxygen therapy may be beneficial for stroke patients when included as a part of a comprehensive rehabilitative stroke recovery program.
